Chocolate Orange Zucchini Bread

Hello frends and family!
About a week ago, my sisters and I started throwing around an idea of a blog dedicated to recipies alone. Since one of us was just recently married, we thought this would be a fun way to help her start collecting recipies. We hope to post atleast one reipie from each of us each week. We are very excited about this! Feel free to help yourself to any of the recipies we post. Let us know how they tun out! Here's my first contribution:

Chocolate Orange Zucchini Bread

Ingredients:

3 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 cups grated zucchini
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. orange zest
3 cups flour
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg

Directions:

Sift together baking powder, flour, soda, salt and spices. Set aside

In a large bowl, beat eggs until light and fluffy. Add sugar and continue beating until well blended. Stir in oil, vanilla, zucchini, nuts, cocoa chips and orange zest. Blend in the sifted ingredients.

Turn batter into two greased 9x5 in. loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove loaves from pans and cool. Chill before slicing.

  1. Em, We tried this recipe on Sunday night. It was really yummy. :) Dave took one bite and said, "Wow". He said he thinks he likes this recipe better than my other Zucchini Bread recipe. Congrats.
